                                                                  Five years prior to the series, a massive explosion released high concentrations of nanites into the atmosphere, infecting almost every living thing on Earth. These nanites may randomly activate inside their hosts, mutating the subject into a monster known as an E.V.O. (short for "Exponentially Variegated Organism"). Though some E.V.O.s retain human-level intelligence, most go berserk and cause widespread destruction. An international organization known as Providence exists to combat the E.V.O. threat.

                                                                Rex is a 15-year-old (later in the series to turn 16) amnesiac teenager who is an E.V.O. Unlike most E.V.O.s, he lacks any physical deformation. He is also able to control his active nanites, allowing him to manifest a wide variety of various bio-mechanical abilities and powers. However, Rex is truly unique because he has the power/ability to deactivate nanites inside other E.V.O.s, effectively curing them of their monstrous mutations. Working for Providence under Agent Six, Rex uses his unique abilities to stop and cure rampant E.V.O.s. His archenemy is Van Kleiss, an E.V.O. who hates Providence. He believes nanite mutations are a gift and should be utilized accordingly. Van Kleiss is connected not only to the original Event which released the nanites upon the world, but to Rex himself.

                                         After the conclusion of the War, Aang and Zuko brought people from the four nations together and founded the United Republic of Nations and its capital, Republic City, a large "metropolis powered by steampunk-type technology" such as cars and motorcycles.Aang and Katara had three children, the youngest of which was Tenzin, an airbender. Meanwhile, Toph Beifong traveled extensively to teach metalbending. After Aang's death, the next Avatar, Korra, was born in the Southern Water Tribe.

                                      At the present time, seventy years after the end of the War, Korra is a rebellious seventeen year-old girl.As the Avatar, she has already mastered waterbending, earthbending, and firebending.

                                         At the beginning of the series, Korra travels to Republic City and starts her airbending training with Tenzin.Tenzin himself is married to Pema.

                                      Avatar: The Last Airbender takes place in a world home to humans, fantastic animals, and spirits. Human civilization is divided into four nations: the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads.

                                    Each nation has a distinct society, wherein people known as Benders have the ability to manipulate the eponymous element of their nation using the physical motions of martial arts.

                                   The show's creators based each Bending style on an existing martial art, leading to clear visual and physical differences in the techniques used by waterbenders (T'ai chi ch'uan), Earthbenders (Hung Ga kung fu, for the most part), Firebenders (Northern Shaolin kung fu) and Airbenders (Baguazhang).

                                  At any given time, there is only one person alive in the story's world capable of 'bending' all four elements: the show's eponymous Avatar, the spirit of the planet in human form.

                                When an Avatar dies, this spirit is reincarnated into the next nation in the Avatar Cycle, in the order of the seasons, and must master each bending art in seasonal order, starting with their native element.

                               Additionally, the Avatar possesses an ability called the Avatar State, which briefly endows it with the knowledge and abilities of all past Avatars as a self-triggering defense mechanism, which can be made subject to the will of the user by extensive trial and training.

 Plot

                                                   Long ago in the city of Jinzhao, Rhino (Paul Scheer), Ox (Dennis Haysbert) and Croc (Tony Leondis) are small-time pit fighters who attracted the attention of Grand Master Oogway (Randall Duk Kim), who, seeing their talent and focus, wished them to find something worthy to fight for.

                                                  As the trio fought themselves to a standstill, two of the villainous Wu Sisters were freeing their leader and eldest sister Su Wu (Sumalee Montano). To recapture them, Oogway persuades Rhino, Ox and Croc into helping him find the sisters at Hubei Volcano. However, to his disappointment, Oogway has to appeal to them with vague prospects of being put on a path to riches to get that cooperation.

                                                 While the Wu Sisters plot to unite the various criminal gangs to seize control of China, Master Oogway has to brush off each of his compatriot's petty proposals during the journey to abandon the others for their benefit.

                                                  At camp, Oogway eventually discovers that while Croc and Ox are motivated by narcissism and greed respectively, Rhino has a deep-seated need to win his dad Master Flying Rhino's (David Cowgill) respect.

                                                 To that, Oogway suggests to all of them that their current goals will only keep them wanting more, and changing their ways can lead to better lives for all.
